Re: Just bought a '62 Evinrude Sportwin 10 HP
I am back from up north, and had a great time!
Lots of fish, Walleye mostly, but a few jacks showed up.
Motor was running great, until the throttle linkage screws fell off.........couldn't believe it, I must not have tightened them all the way....which I still cant believe..I was so upset about that but I wasn't going to let it screw the whole trip up...So i ended up rigging it up so it was in full throttle all the time. That worked great, until I ran the prop into a rock on the last day...but even all of that didn't ruin the trip, we had another 9.5 HP motor on another boat, so we were towing by the end of it.
To get to these falls, we had to portage our boat and motors over, it is very beautiful, very untouched.
We had quite an eventful trip, even though everything that could of went wrong did go wrong, we ate very well, and everyone took their limits out. Going back next year!!
Here are some pictures.
