You are not going to like this advice any more than any of the others. You have a 9 year old boat that is taking on water. You have several options,(1) find where the water is coming in and repair as needed, (2) get it out of the water and repair before returning to water, or (3) wait an watch it sink. I recommend option (1).

To think one could return a boat is most likely the reason some are thinking he/she may be at a Jr. boating skill level and experience level .

No it was the OP other post that said.

"Hey all just bought this boat - and on the drivers side on the hull it has 5 "drain holes". Well one ran almost every 20 minutes if not more... I think it was either the top left or bottom right..."


this could be a toilet roll stored in the plastic locker (livewell) and a switch that left in auto.

you're kind of being a jerk. i've only been boating for 5 years and i still try to maintain a good dose of humility. the people on iboats have helped me soooo much and you're not going to get very far like this.

i'm not sure don will even bother talking to you.

but to matters at hand...fix this problem asap. the marina will be able to get it out for you since you don't have a trailer. then, after the cause is found and legal stuff is taken care of, buy chapman piloting and seamanship (an older one on amazon is CHEAP) and read it all (even the parts that you don't think apply to you). my family and i are on the lake and i don't want someone else out there just trying to figure things out without being a little prepared.

Legally the selling dealer may not have to do anything as most used boats are sold as is. However, a good reputation is hard to come by and if it is simply a matter of a small repair or educating you on the boat, the dealer may take care of you even though they may not be legally liable.

I have heard that it takes 10 good reports via word of mouth to cancel out 1 complaint. If I get excellent service from a company, I make a point to spread the word of how good they are. I have worked in the auto repair business since high school and I know people are way more vocal when they are mad than when they are happy.
