Re: Just got a boat?
Thanks man and all you guys for your help. I have my Florida boating license and a fire extinguisher so I am set. Should i get speakers in the boat? I will be going to my dock today and will upload some pics of the beauty.lol. again thank you all so much for helping me. And would a fish finder be necessary because i do go fishing alot and what other stuff is it worth the money to get a permanent gas tank installed?
I had to work my *** of to get that GPA with all the highschool courses.. Now i can relax
Thanks,
Turner
You need a lot more than a fire extinguisher. Get in contact with your state boating officials to find out exactly what. Don't even put the boat in the water until you take a safety course.
Forget the speakers...when you are in the boat you need to be concentrating on being a boater, not listening to music.
Forget the other add-ons as well. First learn how to be a boater. Save your money because you have no idea how much a baot costs in the long run.
Don't for one minute think you can relax now. Now is just the beginning, and it'll get 100 times harder from now on. You need to work even harder in High School to get good grades so you can get into a good college. And even if you get a scholorship, you'll still need a job for gas and insurance money to be able to keep the boat.
Most of all, don't forget to take your Grandma out for the first boat ride. And be sure to take your Dad, Grampa, Uncle or whomever along regularly too. Time goes by much too quickly. My Grampa helped me build my first boat when i was about your age. Every new motor or new accessory he was the first to go with me and see how it worked. Now that i can enjoy and afford the really good stuff, he's no longer here to be the first mate.
