So I purchased this boat for only 60 bucks and i think it is a great deal the trailer alone after some work will be great. So I made it to my work with the boat.. It was a heart pumping ride and of course I was hitting all the traffic lights so I would not make it any faster. I'm super excited to start working on my boat. first thing is first to start tearing out the floor and then work on the engine. I will keep posting pictures to this website for anyone that wants to follow the progress. If anyone has done restoration and can help I'm open to all advise.

Thanks and ill post more pics when I get a chance.

Looks like a great project. It looks like you have an OMC stringer drive. Just an fyi, parts are hard to come by for those and expensive. It might be worth looking into a Mercruiser swap if it has issues. If everything works good you could probably get some more years out of it.

hi....welcome to iboats !

nice boat.......one of our mechs is working on one just like it...omc even.

ok.....the first thing you need to do.....is to make a repair plan !

i would suggest.....before you start ripping decks out.....that you get the motors running and test the drive....you can even go boating with the deck just the way it is !

after you determine the state of the motor drive......then you can start planning on how the interior of your new boat will look and serve you.

the decks and stringers...we can deal with.......but if the motors/drive is toast you re looking at 7k

Ya thats exactually what i was thinking just one thing was to pull the floors and such so i have just alittle more room to work on the engine. The good thing is i did get a spare that the owner picked up at a garage sale.. but again not sure of the condution.

I figured that for the money i paid that if the engine and outdrive is done i can at least ditch the boat and sell the trailer after some repairs for more money on another boat. :)

But i will deffently keep you all posted on my progress and see how everything goes.

Thank you all for the support and knowledge... please keep it coming and i deffently taking everything in from your all input.

Just went through the boat and looked at the main components. Not too bad of a boat just sucks that they did not cover the boat. Alot of water in the bottom of the boat and the drain plug is clogged. :( So tomorrow i will bring my wet vac and vacum as much out as i possibly can.
Ok so i have a spare engine V8 and same one as i have on the boat and it looks better conditon then the one on the boat. So i was going to see if i can get it running before i did more to the boat. Just incase they bothe fail.

I took the seats and cleaned up some fo the random junk they had in the boat and it already looks better, but looks mean nothing without a working engine. :)

I really hope i can get this boat running beacue i just love the looks and charector of the boat. It also reminds me of my first boat when i was 17. 1965 dorsett 18'.. that boat was awsome. Im hoping to make this one awsome as well. Only time will Tell.

Any sugestions feel free im open to anything.

Thanks for reading.
