Re: Just made an offer on an used Bayliner

I want to thank everybody for their opinons and advice. Today I closed on a 1983 Sea Ray 245 SDA. It's a great boat in cherry shape. It had a terrific survey and runs like new. The sellers are a wonderful couple whom have take me out a couple of times to show me the ropes. Again thanks to everyone for help in finding my first boat.
new_sailor

32' Bayliner, believe it to be 1979. Don't have any info. on it, don't know model, think it is a "sunrunner". Have reg. # - can I find info. on it with just the reg. #.
Thanks All,
Ian, Maple Bay, Vancouver Island

Originally posted by magster65:
Well, what could I possibly add to this thread? These people are right. I will say though that the bigger Bayliners (32' and up), particularly the newer ones are absolutely beautiful well designed boats. An older smaller unit I wouldn't even consider. Your 28' Contessa is quite a lot of boat for a newbie... be careful. That model isn't as bad as the late 70's Bayliners that gave them the bad (well deserved) name.

Ian, it would be better for you to post as a new topic, since the subject of this 3 year old thread is a different model.

There is no 32' Bayliner model called a "sunrunner".

You might also consider visiting the Bayliner Owners Club Forums.
