Just picked up a 2008 115hp

The engine quit on my friend parents one day while tooting down the Colorado River.
Rather than fixing it, they decided to repower.

So I wound up with it. I've worked on older engines, but nothing this new.

First thing I noticed is my lifting ring won't work. So here it sits, bolted to a Yamaha shipping crate, awaiting a way to safely lift into into an engine stand.

What type of lift tool/ring do I need?
I see a few different types, just wanted to be sure before forking over the money.

Not familiar with your engine or being able to see the top of the flywheel, I don't know for certain. But usually there are three threaded holes on the top of the flywheel to help in the removal of the flywheel. So get some grade eight bolts and make a lifting section from those three holes. It will most certainly support the engine weight without a doubt... Some engines even have a lifting hook on them... JMHO!

They make a puller that screws on the crank shaft. Check with a BRP dlr.
