I remember, in the 70s, looking out the Window at the Lake and seeing Bears in the yard

They are Wild Animals, and should be Respected as such. About 30 yrs ago I was driving on a Highway, and the Car in front of me, braked Hard, pulled over and stopped. As I approached, the Driver got out, camera in Hand to take some Pics of 2 cubs that were off the Road on the other Side. Unnoticed by the Inspired Ansel Adams, in the Ditch to the Right of his car, was Mama Bear....

The only bear I have even seen was in a zoo and that’s good enough for me. 😂
A few years ago I shot a nice buck that topped a ridge and kept looking OVER me. When I shot it spun around and ran about 20 yards and dropped on the other side of the ridge from me. I went over the ridge and was about to field dress the buck when I heard a noise … a black bear was coming up the deer trail with nose to the ground. I yelled at the bear and it stopped about 10 yards from me. It paced in a semi-circle … like it wanted my buck. Wasn’t going to happen. At one point it feigned a lunge towards me and gave a low growl. My rifle was against a tree, so I drew my little .380 Auto and fired a shot at the tree beside it, hoping the sound of the bullet hitting beside it would move it along. It didn’t. My second shot was in the dirt in front of it, throwing dirt and leaf debris in its face. It looked at me as if to say, “I can’t believe you just did that! What kind of an idiot are you?” It then backed off about 40 more yards and paced at 50 yards. First time I field dressed a deer with one hand while holding a rifle in the other. That bear was on the gut pile before I was out of sight with my deer. Next year I shot a bear during bear season in that general area. The following year I shot my second bear in the same area. Haven’t shot a bear since, nor have I seen one in that area.

Not sure what I would have done especially when it wouldn't leave.....
These guys aren't afraid of a thing. Even a firearm wouldn't get them moving. They always show up during the day... Ma stays in the woods....

if you are into birds, my 83 year old dad gets some good pics. He's been wandering Europe and the PNW for many a year...

My brother has a bear coming into his place ... tore down his feeders, over turned his rabbit cages, tore off the tonneau cover on this truck to get to the bag of garbage in the bed. Bear is eating the deer's corn ... should be about 300+ lbs by bear season and corn fed, so very tasty.

This mama dove decided to make a nest on the starboard pontoon of my boat. Due to some migratory bird treaty of 1918 I cannot remove the nest so my boat is held hostage until the baby dove flies away. Hopefully soon. Saw the dove hanging around my boat so I searched and found the nest on the pontoon.

Dove eggs hatch in 14 days and supposedly the baby bird flies away after 2 weeks or so. Truth is I actually had the boat out on the 10th of May and the 25th so that nest has travelled a bit without falling away. As soon as I see that nest empty it will be gone so I can use my boat. Apparently doves can lay eggs more than once a summer. If so I need to make sure I remove the nest before and if she lays again.

I was doing some carpentry for a lady years ago and there was a Dove nest on her porch that was active and she asked me to remove it and close off the opening. I told her I would take care of after they left the nest but that didn’t work for her
After some back and forth she sent me packing.
She did pay me for the work I did but said she would find someone else to finish the job and do as she asked and that was fine with me.
