Re: Just too hot to boat.

well like Rheyboer, a complete opposite situation up here in the Northwest. It has been cloudy and raining now for about 5 days...with only the odd shot of sun.
Our temps right now are about (12-16 Celc) 60 degrees. Jees it feels and looks like fall around here....however it is good for the yard and garden and has certainly eliminated the usual summer forest fire hazard/warning.
So....lets trade, send a week of your weather up here for us to warm up and we'll send you a week of cooling. I'd take it.

Sounds like a great trade to me!!!

Send it this way!!!:D

We have had not one drop of rain this month. All the lakes are 5 ft or more below normal.Everything has turned brown and died.
Upper 90's and no sign of rain in the next 5 day forecast..

Its bad when my dog won't even go outside except to do his business

Re: Just too hot to boat.

Having lived in NC (Wilkesboro mostly) most of my life I can sympathize with you Gary.

However since I've moved to Tenn, things are much worse right now :(

Franklin's water supply is down to a 1 day supply. That doesn't mean they'll run out in 1 day however, but a power outage or a water line break means a severe crisis for the city. Macon county in Tenn has put in restrictions and get this:

1.) Car Washes can only operate 8 hours a day
2.) Farmers can _NOT_ water their livestock using city water
3.) And more

(maybe theres not many farmers that use city water, I don't know, but allowing car washes to operate over farmers watering their livestock?!)

Fines of upward to $500

Looks like a COOL spell is coming. Low to mid 90s for the next few days here. Yesterday we set a record at 105.

23 days of 90+ temps. Heard this morning the record is 33 days from 1986. Looks like we will be likely to break that record.

BTW, I remember two days during that 1986 heat wave that we saw 106 degrees. That's hot in the humid Carolinas.

Glad I got a pool!

Well it almost feels cool now, here in Ralegih compared to the last few weeks in the 100's. Its showing 82 right now.

So that cold Front did help some, we will see how long it will last. Now granted it will get to the 90s today, but so far its cool.
