Just took my boat in for annual maintenance. Does he hate me?

After a weekend of winter fishing and blissful cruising up and down the river I dropped my boat (Scooter) off at the dealer for annual maintenance. I could have sworn that I felt the trailer resisting as I backed Scooter into the row of other boats. When I left the lot and looked back at my dear friend I became alarmed. Does he realize that this is just temporary? Does he know this is simply routine? This is our first year together so the chances of him being confused are high. I'm concerned that he doesn't understand. What if he thinks I left him? I tried to reassure him telepathically on the ride home that everything would be ok and I would return soon. I recieved no response. Does he hate me right now? How do the seasoned boaters make it through this difficult period each year? Do your boats "get it" eventually or do they always give you a look of betrayal as you leave them?

He's unmistakebly male. I knew it the first time I heard that two-stoke growl. I have also noticed that he somehow rellocates himself to slips next to female boats while we sleep. The phenomenom has yet to be explained.

They learn to appreciate the trip to the Spa. First time they are scared, but when they realize what is actually happening they begin to accept, and even look forward to, the attention.

Could be the previous owner took him to the shop and he remembers when the tech stuck a finger up his bilge drain to clean it out???

Your boat sounds are like a will cared for child that's thinks Never-Never land is paradise with no adults to ruin the fun. A raucous free time for all with no rules and certainly no shots.

What he doesn't understand is neglected children are doomed to preventable diseases, malnutrition, and tooth decay.

He will grow up he will understand that this was for the best. When his buddies he is so jealous of now are having their transoms replaced at 8 years old (or worse, scrapped), he will thank you.
