After reading through some your posts, you all are awsome! I am new at this DIY boat fixing and maint. especially since my money got low, Navy and VA don't pay much unless you're all messed up. Well, I'm all messed up anyway, but I enjoy DIY. That being said, I have a Reinell 180brxl, with a Mercruiser Alpha-one Gen-II O/D set up. I got it in 1997, I have less than 70 hrs on it. Its been parked in the driveway most of the year and when it got really warm here in Gilroy CA., it started leaking gearcase oil from the upper shift coupler & drain holes on both sides. My indicator bottle says add oil. I did some reading in the maint. manual and it said don't use it until I fix the leak. So I bought gaskets and o-ring seals kits for the bell housing, upper gear case and lower drive units. Since I got it apart I'll just do the water pump service also. Thanks to this forum, Now I have made a outdrive maint. stand, it works great, I even put locking wheels on it so I can move it myself. To remove the out drive and do a re-seal/o-ring job, this will be the first time to tried this. I could sure use any advise from you guys to make this go smoothe. I do everything by myself! Please advise on that also. Thanks, in advance. AEC. I hope I got the tread posting right this time.
