...say hey after being away for a while. Not that anybody's missed me, I'm not the most active poster, but I missed this forum. Thing is, I didn't even know if I'd have a boat this summer.
Been a tough winter-- things have been really slow at my company (30-40% of our sales are automotive, think that says it all). Everybody's pay has been cut and there's been serious talk we'll have to close the doors by June if things didn't turn around. So even the few hundred $$ for motor and trailer maintenance to get lake-worthy is going to be hard to scrape up, and if I lose my job I was thinking I'd have to sell the boat, or at least the motor, maybe save the old hull for a future project when things get better.
Not trying to make this a sob story, I know everybody's got it tough and a lot have it worse than me. At least I still have a job for now. Things are looking a little better. Sales have picked up some, but I don't know if it will be enough to keep the doors open. Talked to my wife about the boat and she's on board (on deck?) with getting it back on the water no matter what happens. We had some fun times with the family last summer, and we want the kids to have that. And if I do lose my job, I guess I'll have more time for fishing
