KAD42 air filter after 12h

We changed the air filter about 12h sailing hours ago and yesterday the engine starts to smoke (black). We checked the air filter and he is bend and very black carbon after 12h What could be the reason?

We changed the air filter about 12h sailing hours ago and yesterday the engine starts to smoke (black). We checked the air filter and he is bend and very black carbon after 12h What could be the reason?

My first thought would be the turbo, maybe a crack where exhaust gases are making it into the intake side

meanwhile we discovered that the intercooler was full of carbon dust - we are now checking the pressure of the turbo

Yep that would do it also, hope its an easy fix and not to costly
