I put the Megaware Keel Guard on the last two boats I've owned. I still have the second boat and the keel guard is great. One of the ramps I use has no dock. I just launch and then pull up on the concrete. People look at me like I'm nuts but I know I'm not doing anything to my boat. <br /><br /> And no, it's not the same double sided tape, It's a very agressive and dense adhesive that is waterproof and grows stronger with age. It's also very thin so there is little chance for the guard to wrinkle. It's definitely worth the money. A bashed up, gouged or scraped keel not only looks bad, it gives water a place to start destroying your boat. <br /><br /><br />UFM82
