So I order a couple of self centering keel rollers to make loading my 17" fiberglass Bayliner easier. I had to order the brackets and shafts for the rollers separately, the rollers are 12". What I received: the 12" rollers are 11'5", the 12" brackets are about 12.5" interior space, the 12" shafts are 15 1/4" without the end caps. I haven't put anything together yet, but it appears that the end caps for the shafts will take the length down to about 14.5.

If assembled, it would leave about an extra 1" for the rollers inside the brackets and 1 3/4" for the shaft outside the brackets. This seems like too much space to me. Should I just return it all and go with the split brackets and smaller shaft? Or should I try to make up some space with some washers? or am I just crazy and should I just put it together as is and it will be fine?

Thanks.
