Last year I purchased an all welded aluminum boat 18'. I almost had the keel scraped a few times when trailering as the wife pulled the boat up closer to the ramp to leave room at the dock almost beaching it on the cement ramp as I was fetching the vehicle. Have any of you out there using this product or can comment on its use. I'm just pondering the thought and would like your oppinions.

SingleShot

Installation prep must be followed very closely.

Some companies say not to use them if you have a big ridge on the keel seam.

Mine has worked well, but have had it only since June.

SingleShot,

Call, or e-mail, the makers of the brands you are looking at. I have found them to be very helpful.

They appreciated an e-mailed picture to let them determine if their product would work.

When applied correctly, they are a very nice item to have and will last forever.

Re: Keel Shield

Thanks for the replies,

I have a Tracker Tundra, looks like a glass hull. No rib on the keel, like most of the riveted boats. I just need to contact Tracker marine about the type of paint used. I dont' want to sand the paint off for this stuff to work. I have emailed then and will be calling them about my situation.

SingleShot
