Keeping oil out of bilge during filter change

Changing oil in a 1995 Chris Craft Concept, 302 ford engine, looking for tips to keep the oil out of the bilge when removing filter. I put an old t-shirt under the filter, but missed and some oil ran out and into the bilge. It is hard to get to the filter...fuel pump, motor mount, and two hoses on top of the filter.

The easiest way is to install a remote filter kit,it brings the filter out in the open,easy to get to.

I have used a trash compactor bag under the filter before. Then you can drop the oil filter, paper towels in the sack, and pull it out with a clean bilge.You would think the boat makers would give you more room to work. Dave R.

Ayuh,.... Crack the filter Loose with yer wrench, then slip a freezer baggie 'round it, 'n spin it off, droppin' into the baggie,....

Seal it up, 'n toss it,....

Same for the fuel filter, only dump it into the baggie, 'n Look for Water, 'n Crud,....
