Keeping the small chryslers going

The little chryslers of the 70 s ie the 6 to 15 hp motors , with the recoil starters and ignition sytems can they be retrofitted with later force bits and bobs to keep them going

Similar question for the 45 to 60 s of the 70 s is anyone making after market stators for these

I keep mine going........out the door, I sold them cheap or gave them away, not worth hunting for parts on these when you can buy a similar OMC for the same price and have cheap parts everywhere, plus OMCs are much better motors.

​Now if you want to keep an old discontinued brand running for personal reasons that's fine, some people really enjoy it, I don't though.

I have found a few parts online for some an 80's chrslyer 10 hp. Can you get the stator rebuilt at the local starter / alternator shop?

I has 3 of those Chrysler 9.9s at one point, love those things! If you like your motor just keep your eyes peeled on craigslist or searchtempest (let's you look within whatever mile radius of craigslist ads all at once) and buy yourself a parts engine. People practically give those motors away! Wis I was better at electrical engineering, seems like making custom stators would be a great niche market

Yes some parts from the newer Forces can be fit.
Once they started using Mercury stuff the change over is a bit more difficult.
​As far as parts availability? LOTS of parts out there.
​One motors better than the other?? That breaks down to personal choice.
