i HAVE THIS 15 HP JOHNSON OUTBOARD I BOUGHT WITH THIS BOAT, THE PROBLEM IS I CAN'T TELL THE YEAR OF THE MOTOR? YOU CAN'T READ THE TAG ON IT, AND I LOOKED ON THE TOP OF THE MOTOR AT THE SILVER PLUG AND THERES NOTHING ON IT. ALL I KNOW IS IT NEEDS NEW COILS AND THEY ARE SINGLE POST. CAN ANYONE HELP? I DON'T NO WHAT TO DO.:eek:

I haven't been on this site all that long - but I've figured out that you get better responses if you (1) put a subject line in your post that is descriptive of your question; and, (2) turn your caps lock key off.

I'm guessing there are people on here that can help you. Might be easier in your case if you could post a picture.

Post pictures of the motor, inside and out.
There are dozens of models of 15hp Johnson motors.
