A big thanks to all for the wealth of knowledge and top notch work being shown. You guys rock.
New guy here with a impulse buy when looking for a small crab skiff.
It was missing the transom, and had been sitting out for some time.
Deck had been replaced with PT ply and white beaded foam, all of which has some waterlog, and the more I dig, well, you know.
In the process of replacing transom now, then the other can of worms later. I have a few problems, that I need some help on.
Here is what I am working with, a simple barebones 16 ft.hull.

Does this qualify as a Tri hull club member?skiff 005.jpg
I have cut some of the front deck out, to air it out some, before I set the transom. Here is where I need help.
The floor is self bailing, two 1 inch scupper holes. I am unsure of how thick I can overdrill the holes using a PB mix. I was thinking of a three inch holesaw thru both Layers of my 3/4 ply, then backfilling, packing the holes with the PB using chopped strand before laying it up with mat. Is this to large a diam. perhaps causing problem? Reason being, I might want to enlarge the drains a tad, or, maybe move them higher, once I get a idea of how the boat sits in the water. The existing deck dropped 3/4 inch to bottom of scupper hole. skiff 008.jpg
Sorry if this has been covered before, as I have missed it.
I am in brain overload reading everyones cool resto's.

Welcome to iBoats!
Yeah, I'd say 3" is a bit large. Your typical drain tube is 1" so a 1 1/2" hole should be plenty big. Basically a 1/2" oversized hole should be plenty.
