So far, the current immigration bill doesnt really discourage further influx of illegals, nor does it make it easy for the illegals living here to become legal (and therefore they will just remain illegal).

So I wrote this up after about 1 hr of total thought (as opposed to the 3 months our leaders have spent on the current proposal)

Kens Immigration Bill

1) Babies born to mother’s here illegally are not citizens
2) Increase penalty for companies who hire illegals
3) Illegals who steal SS id#s are to serve one yr in jail minimum
4) Illegals are not allowed to rent or purchase apartments/houses
5) Illegals are not allowed any government programs
6) Children of illegals are not allowed to attend public school
7) Emergency medical care for an illegal will be back charged to the illegal’s home country, nonpayment will be deducted from US foreign aid (illegal’s country can pay with oil!)
8) Anyone caught living in the USA illegally by any government agency must be turned over to Immigration.
9) Make illegal entry a criminal offence
10) Illegals have limited rights in a court of law

For illegals currently living in this country you have two choices

To become permanent resident (green card):

1) you must have lived here for 5 yrs
2) you must have no criminal record in the USA
3) you must not have been a burden to the US taxpayer (no use of welfare programs), or pay back all monies taken from us taxpayer (living as a productive member of society)
4) Families (parents and children only) allowed to apply together as long as all members have lived here for 5 yrs

To become a guest worker (limited to 500,000 in country, valid for 5 years):

1) you must apply at the border for a guest worker visa
5) you must have no criminal record
2) you must not have been a burden to the US taxpayer

Above all, all forms will be in English and must be submitted in English.

What do you think?

Doesn't stand a chance...makes too much sense. Have you officially announced your candidacy for 2008 yet? :p

Sounds good to me, Ken, but I doubt that you could get any Democrats to vote for it. If you can't get it passed into law it is just peeing into the wind.

My idea makes it easier for the GOOD illegals to stay here. They dont have to pay a fine, just pay back any tax dollars they used (if any).

Sadly, I know you are right.

Makes sense to me, but would have to be coupled with tight enough border security to stop the "already been here five years crowd" from extending the problem.

Give that statue in NY harbor back to the French. It only cause problems. Or change the wording, Instead of saying something like give us your bums. it should say, "Please go away. If you stay, Taxes you will pay"!

Does anybody realize that entering into our country illegally is a felony? They should have no rights whatsoever. I take that back...

They should have the right to remain silent....anything you say can and will be held against you....

How 'bout enforcing the immigration laws already signed into law and arresting those that pledged to uphold the laws and the Constitution of the nation.

We need a coup d'etat against the coup d'etat.

Now if these illegals are not allowed to rent or purchase properties among other items listed on your plan ,how exactly could they have been productive and non burdensome citizens for five years and be granted citizenship. The plan item by item is shot full of holes. Our countries immigration laws are clear. The authorities are simply not carrying out the duties of enforcement but instead pandering to the bleeding heart idealogues. The illegal got his/her self here illegally and were well aware (or should be)of the consequeces of getting caught.5 years or whatever. The problem with any plan to inhibit what is currently happening is that it doesn't digest well with the legal hispanic community that seems eager to give their fellow illegal alien the benefit of the doubt which inturn becomes a difficult decision on the political end that is trying to maintain relations with an ever increasing population of hispanic voters.A big stinky can of worms that is sure to muster more festering sores of deteriorating race relations.

Wishful thinking KIZ,,, I like your ideas.

This whole thing goes back to migrant farm workers, even on Long Island there were many farm camps that you would get arrested for letting a dog live in

BUT it was a cheep way to get crops picked they were out of sight and nobody cared until they moved out of the ????Hole camps into the surrounding communities and did not go home for the winter

Which is how we got were we are now are invited guests never went home and WE never got mad enough to ask them to leave

Yeah, because we all know repubs are sooooo much tougher on illegals. After all, they did sooooo much during the first six years of controlling everything during W's tenure. What a thoughtless attempt to point a finger.

Ken,

I like much of what you said, but I have one question......how much vacancy do our prisons currently have. This would be the deal killer, in my opinion. This is most likely the reason current laws on ilegals are not enforced right now.

That's exactly what our right to keep & bear arms is for! The time appears to be right - the National Guard doesn't even have enough oomph to help clean up tornado damage - how are they going to defend the Capitol? CHARGE!!

Your right on this statement Steve, seems the guard is rather preoccupied somewhere else.

<<The time appears to be right - the National Guard doesn't even have enough oomph to help clean up tornado damage ->>

http://www.independent.org/newsroom/article.asp?id=1876

<<As of December 13, 2006, more than 77,000 members of the Army Reserve and National Guard are currently mobilized (that number has been as high as 163,000) and account for as much as 40 percent of the force in Iraq. Since 2001, 350,000 National Guard and Reserve soldiers have been called to active duty>>

<< The strains of the Iraq deployment have forced the military to resort to a backdoor draft. First, deployments have been extended to keep troops in Iraq for longer than their normal rotation. Second, the use of stop-loss orders prevents soldiers from leaving the military when their terms of enlistment expire. Finally, the military is using involuntary recall to force reservists back into active duty. But a backdoor draft may not be enough, particularly since Gen. Schoomaker has called for expanding the Army by 7,000 or more troops a year.>>

It's a very bad idea to state anything like this on a public forum, kidding or not. You do not want to mess with the Bureau...

This is all you have to do:

Fine every employer that hires an illegal alien $10,000 per infraction(This is current law that is not enforced). Every other problem will take care of itself because if they can't work, there will be no reason for them all to be here in the first place.
