Re: Ken's solution to illegal immigration

Though my remarks were made in a light hearted manner, I was serious....
The administration said that Iraqi oil would finance this thing, well, get pumping!

That's why I said I was for term limits in another thread.....
UFM has some good points, but since a politician's primary goal is to be re-elected, no one will step up & take decisive action for fear of political suicide......JK

Isnt the point that they come to our countries because theirs have nothing. My solution would be to not provide
schooling, food stamps, welfare, medical care or whatever
But a free plane fare back

The problem is everyone is "wasting" their votes on Democrats and Republicans.
Start voting in candidates that will walk the talk and represent the citizens in all that they do, we'll all be happy.

Good concept.Where does the search begin?Fantasyland. This whole illegal issue has been brewing for quite some time.I'm not at all surprised with the resistance it is getting.I'd like to see the flow ceased if it was only to eliminate the illegal narcotics that flow in from Mexico.Cocaine is the number one illegally consumed drug of choice, and outnumbers the others combined.Much of the money generated from it flows right back to the source.Striking any rational deal with a country that is presently plagued with militia overuns and anti-American sentiment from it's leader seems unlikely.Marches scheduled in Dallas this weekend at the police overtime expense of the tax payers and misfortune of area merchants. It will be interesting at least to see the outcome of attempts to control the Mexican border without riling the masses of Latino citizens.

Start searching the ballot? Choose from the ones that don't get invited to the shams that are called debates?
I'd trade what we have now for even average representation.

Our President for the past 2 weeks has been aggressively representing "guest workers" ( illegal aliens)interests far greater than any ordinary American citizen. He's ignored the law and the citizens interests. What a very "liberal" concept!
:D Hah! We're already in fantasyland....

Skinny,My point was ,is that there IS no guatantee when you vote in a politician. They all seem to be eager to rally their supporters once elected, and then issues seem to get sidetracked by other issues and ........well you already eluded to the current situation in your above comments. It's the candidate choosing bit that gets tricky.I mean after all ...they are politicians.

Just to be clear,I think GW has done a decent job given his circumstances.Except on this illlegal alien issue, particularly with respect to how it correlates to terror concerns.Deporting millions of illegal Mexicans out of the US is a very touchy domestic issue to ponder.Damn shame of it all,is that it shouldn't have been allowed to get this out of hand with repect to numbers. That,IMO,is not just in GWs lap.

I think we agree. :)

I think we agree.
I think so to.

The problem is legislation, policys, programs, and actions that go though todays political process create more politics than substance.
To be sure less gets done because of politics.
And the politicians are painting themselves into a corner with it. Here may lie the answer.

My concern is greater than just the immigration issue. A pattern is now evident from the Republicans*. The pattern is to represent the citizens of Mexico. To represent the economys of China, India, Indonesia, and the Phillipines.

Interestingly, I don't have to bring up some middle east war to solidify fears of current political policy.

And certainly we can dispell any illusions that this administration is a conservative one.

* footnote,
a growing number in the Republican party have distanced themselves from the administration. Reflecting lowering approval ratings.

Re: Ken's solution to illegal immigration

I'm a conservative and voted for GWB and for my state congressmen. All of which have been a big dissapointment. I don't care if a monkey is running for any seat I get to vote for next time around, they will get my vote over any democrat or republican. Yes, I know, I will be "throwing my vote away", but just perhaps, if enough people said enough is enough, maybe washington would pull it's head out of it's arse. The illegal invasion and what it is doing to this country is the final straw. I actually expected the republicans to put an end to this .....instead they are standing with Ted Kennedy and talking about amnesty and guest workers.....that's it.

Someone say monkeys?.....
The sad fact is that in this case it is easier to give up than do what needs to be done....
The fact that it is our president who is all for it, must be killing all of those who voted for him...... monkeys ....JK

Congratulations for being part of the solution instead of part of the problem.
Strange how men have died throughout history in this country for democracy. And it takes one Rush Limbaugh type to say "I'm throwing my vote away" when I use it the way I see fit.

Haut Medoc the topic never was about Iraq or your children.
