I'm interested in installing a 5hp kicker motor on our Key West 1900. Does anyone have advice on the best location and mounting option for this? What's the best way to get to the back of the transom? Does anyone have pictures of a configuration like this?

Many thanks,
Jack

Re: Key West 1900 kicker upgrade

I recently purchased a 1992 Key West 19ft. Dual Console boat and it has a kicker motor mount in the rear right hand side of the motor. I purhcased the boat this way and actually have mounted a trolling motor in that area so that I did not have to make any cuts in the front railing. I can take a picture of it probably and send it to you if you want. I could measure from the top and bottom of the hull and give you demensions as well... Again, I have no experience with the mount and a kicker motor mounted on it, I can say that it looks like it would hold what you are wanting and it is a suitable area for a kicker...

I'd love to see a couple of pictures if you don't mind. I'm mainly interested in the location of the mount and the location of the bolts on the inside of the transom. Thanks so much. My email is "frandrake@aol.com".
