I just picked up a Key West 1900 pushed around by a 1993 Zuke DT150. It's turning a 20p stainless prop at 5000 RPM which ends up being around 46 MPH on the GPS. The RPM seems a little low for my liking. I am about to pull the trigger on a 17p Hustler, the iboats discounts on props right now are insane. I think this will do what I am looking to do, which is to not lug the crap out of the outboard (or wallet), but I thought I'd post here first to see if anyone notices any glaring problems.

Thanks,

Eli, I don't know about the hustler, but if you change to an 18" pitch prop in the exact model you have now you will be almost exactly at 5,500 RPM.

Thanks for the response, H. I'm going to see how the 17 spins. I have my other boat, a 17' Hewes Tarpon with an 87 Johnson 90 propped to 5800 WOT (but I don't run it WOT). If the 17 overrevs on the Key West I'll get the stainless repitched to 18.

Thanks again,
