Hello all. I'm new to this board so forgive me if I make any mistakes. I have a 14ft. Aluminum Grumman Rogue with a 25hp Johnson. The boat's a 1990. I just purchased a Merc. 9.9 2005 kicker motor. As it sits right now I can operate the 9.9 with the 25hp in the upright position. However with the 9.9 on, I cannot operate the 25hp fully in both directions. So, I'm looking to put a kicker plate on, and have been doing some research. Any suggestions on a good kicker plate for a 4stroke. I've looked on Cabelas, and called some local dealers. Looks like a good one could cost around $300 bucks.<br /><br />I am going to have to mount the plate to the left most corner of my transom. Any suggestions on plates would be greatly appreciated. I'm a bit concerned about drilling holes and making sure water won't leak in. I may have to drill below the water line, but maybe not. Depends on bracket dimensions.<br /><br />Thanks in advance.
