We're talking about a 17 year old that intentionally shot a kid in the face with a BB gun. Sounds criminal to me.

So much for the measly BB gun. Even Benjamin can't hold a candle to whats out there now. I just purchased a Korean .25 caliber lever action repeating pellet rifle that hits with more force than a .22LR with no recoil and no spring type cocking. It's also more accurate than any of it's powder burning competition. Try 3/8" groups at 30 yards, consistently. 1/2" groups at 50. It's called PCP, or pre-charged pneumatic. You use either a hand pump (a special hand pump) or scuba tank to fill to rifle to 3000psi. It comes in .25, .45 and .50 calibers. The .45 is commonly used for deer hunting and there is a youtube video showing someone killing a 10 point buck with it. It's amazing where technology has taken us!

My brother and i grew up w/ BB guns, high velocity pump ones too - I remember we were shooting at an old wig head on a broomstick, he got way to close and a richochet from my gun, got him right across the bridge of the nose - a bit scary, and then there was the time he was shooting and got his own richochet that blew half his tooth off....those were the days....
