I;m having a problem with my kill switch. With it hooked up it won't start. If i unhook the white wire from the motor it will start but it won't shut off. Same way at the ignition. So i ran a striagh wire from the engine to the ignition and hooked it up and it still would'nt start.Could somebody help or tell me how to bypass the switch.

Thanks Buda

Re: Kill switch problem

The engines are killed by sending the electrical energy to ground. Use a tester to see if the wire is grounded. THe kill switch may be bad and allowing ground in the run position. The wire could also be rubbed bare and contacting metal somewhere. I would get a continuity tester and try to eliminate one or the other. Do not touch the bare connectors while the motor is running. I accidentally did this and you don't forget the result. You could run your new wire to a toggle switch and run the other side to ground. It would be crude and ugly but should work in a pinch.
