might sound stupid...
but how does a 2 wire kill switch work with a lanyard cord ? is it a button pulled when the cord is pulled ? or is it another system ?
lanyard cords usually ends with a U that connects to the kill switch button: is that U a connector ?

Re: kill switch

Don't know about lanyards and such cause my boat doesn't have one, but to kill most modern JohnnyRudes, short the black w/yellow tracer to ground, usually black. That must be what happens when lanyard is pulled.

Re: kill switch

It's just a switch that is held open when the lanyard is connected. When the lanyard is pulled out the switch closes (using a spring) and connects the engine kill wire to ground. On later motors the lanyard actually turns the key off when it is pulled.
