Re: Killed my Dell!

Thanks i386, After the Toshiba this HP is so much nicer,
The Toshiba was making a lot of fan noise, like throttling up and down. The HP is silent. Acts like its much faster,The 2 gigs of ram made all the difference..
Still getting used to Vista, actually i like it so far.
I wonder how long it will take them to get a service pack out for it?
I did realize 1gig of ram is barely enough for Vista.Setting Idle it was using 60% of the ram..
Now with 2gigs 27%....

Re: Killed my Dell!

I wasn't gonna post but now that somebody else has said it I will. I would stay away from Toshibas. I bought several Satellite Pros (laptops) for work a number of years ago and had nothing but problems and bad customer service. The final straw was when I needed a part (under a service plan) and when I asked for it, the service person said it will be 6 weeks. I told her that I couldn't wait six weeks and was told "I'm sorry sir, the parts on a ship and I can't make them go any faster". I bought all Dells from then on.Three years ago I decided to try Toshiba again because they had the brightest screens I could find and they would be used outdoors. Bought seven machines and had either motherboards, screens, or power supplies die on each of them. Always cost several hundred dollars and took 10 days to fix. I am back to Dells and Toshiba won't get anymore of my money. Go with Dell or HP.

Re: Killed my Dell!

The Toshiba machines do have a bright screen but the HP out does that.Actually the HP display is brighter than my Dell was..
I ended up having about 1100 in this HP.I built the same thing on HP's website and and got a price of 1400..?
I still could have got one smoking fast Dell for this price..:'(
