So finally got the raccoon last night, have taken out a dozen chipmunks I think we can call an end to hostilities.

They do live long. I’ve seen some bigs ones that were probably 40 plus year old.

Can ya eat them , and what about chipmunks and 'coons.
Ive seen Tom and Nancy eating muskrats and beavers ,chipmunks and coons aint that different?. I spose it all comes down to what food there is about if your subsistence living ....traditional food ?

agreed, we had a disagreement. I was trying to help the damn thing out of the road and it didn't understand my intentions. probably didn't help that I had an umbrella in my hand. They sure ain't slow.

Well the suet cake was gone again hostilities resumed, I should have known there is never just one.

When we moved out into the country, NY wife did not like the idea of shooting/ trapping the feral cats. We also have lots of cute bunnies..
One day we stumbled across a rabbit caught in a fence and watched two feral cats eating the rabbit alive. Not really eating it for food but just ripping the rabbit apart from the back end. Just a few days after, we saw a feral cat digging up rabbit nests and tearing apart the babies....quite an awful mess in front it our living room window. After this....feral cats are clear targets with her blessing ! Sometimes women need to see how cruel mother nature can be before she needs a little help in vermin control.
