old 18 foot vip br with a small block and merc drive bought it to fix a overheating thing but now i find if you are in the windsheild frame u can shake the sides.more left side than right but the floor is all good im sure the wood is gone under it or somthing this need fixed now or will it make it the summer if i just fix the old 305. its a 77 was cheap just a 2nd boat .all the insides of the boat seats dash everthing oem and looks great .but not knowing about vips is it worth it

It's rarely "worth it" from a purely economic perspective. Repaired properly, you'll undoubtedly have more into it than it's worth. However, if you like the boat, it may be worth it to you. Chances are any other inexpensive boat you'd replace this one with may have the same issues so it's often worth it to the restorer to go ahead with the project just so you know what you have. It's not hard to rebuild these boats way better than they were constructed originally.

yep kinda know that about the time and money on it never get it back. kinda meant a old vip never had the boat out to know if i like it.was just cheap from ebay. i like the v8 and merc parts worth more than i payed. and its looks ok. got a wellcraft nova with a 502 so just a little toy or a parts boat here. but thinking hard on a rebuild and got a old 400 from a dirt track car ready to make some waves so not sure yet. did many old br like this small have v8s. gota run good being so little.sitting next to the nova looks like a kids toy
