Knew It was gonna be a bad day right off..........

To start this tale off I've got to give a little history first........

The wife broke her foot a month ago and has been in an ortho boot since. Went to the ortho guy last friday and there is no signs of healing sooooo, you guessed it, surgery on Monday for plates and screws. NOW, the wife has never done anesthesia well and pretty much spews any and everything for about a week after. Needless to say I've been on bucket patrol since monday.

NOW, yesterday morning was no different......Wake up 5 a.m. haul vomit, head for kitchen to make coffee, haul more vomit. Thrusday is garbage day so I strike out for the street hauling gabage. Half way to the street the damn wheel runs off the garbage can. Garbage spills in drive way. I get garbage gathered back up and head out across the front yard making a shortcut to the shop to get tools to fix garbage can. What do you suppose I find while i'm headed a cross the yard? WATER, and lots of it. It hasnt rained here in over a month or more. The ground has something the wife has been having....the dry heaves!! My main water line from the street has broken at a joint and now I'm a shovel hand diggin in the mud! What a damn day.


Today is a little better.......still a vomit jockey though.

First off, hats off to you for being a good husband to your wife. That karma will come back around. Sorry about your water issue, I'll bet a plumber will have to take care of the feed line. Builders put in some cheap stuff from the meter to my house as well. It's been 5 years since I replaced it with better materials. Luckily for me, the guy next door owns a plumbing co.

No, there were no plumbers hired to make the repair. The line from the street is PVC so I fixed it myself. I had everything I needed in the shop.

Around here when it gets extremely dry, the ground moves and will cause some water lines to start to leak at their joints. Mine was at a T in the line. I had it fixed and back online in a couple hours. I did do something a little different though, when I covered it up I put about 12 inches of sand below and all around that joint beore I put any dirt back on it. It was a pretty deep and big hole I had to dig and the dirt was big mud clods. Thought the sand would be better around that joint. Only time will tell.

Volphin, I hope that "karma" isnt paid back anytime soon.

A little while ago, thought I was smellin something. Thought it was the dog so I snatch it up and wash and dry it. Fresh and clean dog.....Still smellin it......Got over close to the her.........its her!! SO, I coax her in to the bathtub and give her the Cleopatra bath with a tupperware pitcher.

Now that I've washed all the females in the house everything is squeaky clean and smellin good.

Yall know if she knew I was tellin yall all this she'd shoot me dead. The dog is mad at me too.

A little while ago, thought I was smellin something. Thought it was the dog so I snatch it up and wash and dry it. Fresh and clean dog.....Still smellin it......Got over close to the her.........its her!! SO, I coax her in to the bathtub and give her the Cleopatra bath with a tupperware pitcher.

Damn, its gone from raining and pouring for me to hail storming! My 91 year old mother fell and broke her hip this morning. She will have surgery on it sometime today.

Yall say prayer from Mamma......one for my Dad as well. He's 94 and wanting to be with her at the hospital and does quite understand why we arent taking him just yet.

I hear ya on the black cloud following me around!! I gues I'm going to have to turn around, look at that racal face to face and UGLY it away.

On a good note, I have'nt had to haul the first vomit bucket today!! WooooHoooo. I guess "Iron Foot" is turning the corner.
