I have a 1998 20ft suncruiser pontoon with a 50hp Johnson outboard. On the shift/throttle control near the ignition switch there is a small black knob that turns both directions, does anyone know what it is for? thanks

Re: knob on shift/throttle control?

It's for your throttle lever friction control. Turn it in and the throttle friction increases.

Yep, keeps the throttle lever from creeping when you take your hand off it.
