Hi,

I have a merc 350 from -95 with a thunderbold V with knock sensor. When I bought the engine the knock sensor(806612T) and y-fitting (22-806705) wasn't in place. The y-fitting is not sold anymore but I got a tip that I can put the knock sensor directly in the block. It is possible to do so? Is the threads on the knock sensor the same as the thread in the block? Are there any drawbacks aside that I have to remove the knock sensor when I drain the block from water?

Best regards, Hannes

The sensor will screw directly into the block.Put some Teflon sealer on the threads and do not over tighten it.
