Hi all,
I've got a Kohler 5e I took the cylinder heads off and filled the crankcase with diesel. There was clear water intrusion into the cylinder heads/crankcase. The cylinder heads and intake of the gen has clear water intrusion through it. Does anyone know how it could have gotten in there and what all I need to check to fix the issue?
I bought this boat as a project so I have no idea on the history. I never tried starting the generator. I checked with a camera for signs of corrosion and luckily there was very minimal. The cylinders luckily are also corrosion free.
The wet muffler was almost full of water as well. The set up wasn't altered or changed from factory as the boat sat a very long time.
