Kohler Generator Issue

I have a 2008 Gas 7.3 ECD (fuel injected). The generator starts right up and runs fine. If you watch the display screen it keeps going through the crank cycles, 1, 2 and 3. When the third crank cycle times out the generator stalls and the over crank code is thrown. I can reset the switch and it will keep doing the same thing. When I put the boat away for storage last year it ran fine, now this. For some reason the generator is not recognizing that it's actually running. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

The Kolher gens. are some of the most annoying things I erver tried to fix, there's something like 8 different safety switches. I would start by checking the connections in both the engine wiring harness and the gen wiring harness and also the 3 fuses. I tinkered with mine for about 6 months before I took it to the gen. shop and let them diagnose it 1 day later they told me the stator was shorted. Let some one who nose them look at it pay the diagnostic fee and go from there
