What kind of labor hours are allowed by industry standards to rebuild a 175GT Johnson (V6 Looper).

Is there like a Chilton manual that gives the proper time?

The darn motor will have to be rebuilt and I don't want to get ripped off.....

I dont know about the labor hours.
You may want to check on a rebuilt powerhead, it could be cheaper .
KYhunter

This is a hard question to answer without more info. As far as parts are concerned pistons are the most expensive part of the rebuild, so depending on whether you need 1 or all 6 replaced this will dramtically vary the price of the rebuild.

How about telling us what happened to the engine and what kinda of damage you are looking at?

Before we can answer that we need to know what you have. A 175 GT is not a looper but rather a crossflow. If it's looper it's probably a 200 GT. Let's get the model number so we can be sure to get you the correct info.
