Hope the NY home is okay (or will be) I have family and friends spread though the state and people in Binghamton were hammered but not as bad as Port Jervis river area along the PA, NY, NJ boarder. I had friends trapped in Herkimer who could not get back to VT. Yesterday I was at Lake Champlain and the entire Lock system was shut down due to high water.

You had mentioned your Mom's place got it bad.

Re: Ladyfish

Thanks Bob. Yes, my Mom lost half of her downstairs and everything in it. Right now they have all the walls and floor torn out, trying to dry it allout so they can make the repairs and get her back in it as soon as possible. I also have family in Little Falls, Herkimer, Mohawk and Ilion. None of them suffered as bad as she did but she then again she lives right on the lake. The rest just had an abundance of water in their cellars.

The lake came out of its banks because the flood gates at the dam right around the corner from her were not working come to find out. She has no flood insurance either.

Also, I understand that the road to her house is completely out and won't be fixed for another 6-8 weeks. There is a way around but its 20 miles out of the way. I'll know more when I get there tomorrow. Most of the main roads from Albany to her neck of the woods are open now. But there are plenty of secondary roads that are not so it will be interesting.

I will be a busy beaver for the next two weeks thats for sure. We'll be drywalling, painting, installing flooring, drying out stuff to see what we can salvage. She lost her refrigerator, freezer, hot water tank, all the kitchen cabinets had to be torn out, basically everything in the downstairs up to about 3' of the house.

Keeping her spirit up is really important to me. Having all the help she needs to get the job done will ease her mind some.

Thanks for your concern Bob.

Re: Ladyfish

LF if your flying in Albany and need a break you are welcome to meet Jenn and I for lunch or dinner. Just shoot me an e-mail.

I hope all the repairs go as planned and I have to admit NY does a good job on re-opening roads due to emergency vehicles needing passage.

Re: Ladyfish

Thanks y'all.

Bob my flight gets in at 11:51 PM tonight. My neice is picking me up and driving me directly to the lake (which will be about 2 hours away):/

Thanks for the invite though, I would love to meet you and your wife, maybe next time.
