I just inherited a 1974 Lake-Flite tri-hull with a 1972 Johnson outboard...I am looking to restore it, but its seems to be in pretty good shape, so hopefully there won't be too much to do to get it on the water. It's been on land and covered for like a year or two. I know they are or were a local company here in Knoxville, TN,...but other than that, does anyone have more info on this brand or particular boat. The net seems to be void of pics of them or parts warehouses don't carry onything for them. Help!...thx

Re: Lake-Flite

You won't find brand specific parts for very many boats. There were literally thousands of fiberglass boat manufactuers some producing only a handful of boats. The good news though is that the manufactuers mostly got their parts from the same places. So you should usually be able to find something that works. Welcome to iboats. At the very least we'll have PLENTY of info on your motor in the Johnson/Evinrude section.

Check out fiberglassics.com many catalogs info sources etc.Even if lake flite isn't listed it may be a private label from another company or they may have built private labels themselves.

Re: Lake-Flite

The link below is to the USCG Manufacturers Identification Code (MIC) database. It confirms that Lake-Flite boats have not been built since 1985. My current boat, not Lake-Flite, was acquired ten years after the company went out of business but I was able to contact the owner through reverse-lookup of addresses. He put me in touch with the company's former marketing guy who still had some file info. It is not impossible to find info in these situations but does require some work. Possibly, public incorporation records will provide a contact name that is still viable. Good luck!

I had a bud at work who was originally from Oak Ridge and he owned a Lake-Flite boat. He's retired now but I will try to contact him to see if he still has any info. Good luck!
