Anyone else start looking for another lake home?

I had been fairly flexible with lakes but got a little bigger boat this year and was looking to get a slip at aqualand to keep from having to do the trailer thing.

Went by aqualand and some other marinas wednesday and it looked like folks were scrambling to get there boats our of the water due to lake levels..Saw what looked like some dredging going on at Holiday Marina?

also one would thing the COE would lengthen some of the bigger boat ramps while the lake is down, but I guess that takes common sense, only one public ramp open and a lot of boats will still need to come out of the lake if we dont get rain...

All of our lakes are at least 15ft low.I was lucky that the lake property i bought is on the only lake in this part of the state they have kept at full pond.It is owned by a different power company and people are screaming about them keeping it full and not letting more water through the dam.
I'm planning on building there in a year or two.Glad my boats safe at home in the driveway...:)

I am near Allatoona, which is similar to Lanier, another corp lake. We are quite a few feet low (see drought thread in dockside chat) and only have 2 ramps open, both of which are closing soon. The corps have their hands tied from all ends. Unfortunately, that means for us, no water, and no ramps. It is getting rough here. Water restrictions are tight.

I will be curious to see how traffic picks up at other lakes, oconnee, hartwell, blue ridge, etc, if the lake is still not up to useable level come spring.

I think a lot of Lanier regulars will just find something else to do rather than going to another lake but it all depends on where you live. If you're in Roswell or Cumming, I just can't see driving the 1.5+ hours to Hartwell or Oconee. If you're in Dacula or Winder, Hartwell isn't such a bad trip. Then again, given the crowds at Lanier on weekends, I'd be surprised if everyone who was even reasonably close to Hartwell or Oconee didn't start going there long before lake levels became an issue.
