Interesting article about the B-29 that while on a "Cosmic Ray Research" mission that required altitude changes from 30,000 feet to "as low as possible" had a malfunction, hit the water & sank on July 21, 1948. All crew members made it to safety.
I guess with the water level in Lake Mead down around 140', the depth isn't as much an issue to dive on it.

clicky

I understand it's somewhere in the Southern portion of the Overton Arm (below the Islands). Do you know 12v?

Yes, you're right on. It's right in the mouth of the arm. ( however strange that sounds:) )

I remember see a documentary on that plane. It carried a device called a sun tracker. They even interviewed one or two of the surviving crew members. It was either Discovery or History channel that carried it.

What's the water depth there? could be one heck of a fish holding structure. :)

Its a "no dive" site for historical purposes right now. pretty interesting. if anyone goes to the lost city museum in overton, they have a small display about it. The plane actually skipped off the water once then crashed. Everyone survived i believe.
