Hello;

Well had a great run at the lake yesterday. Was wondering if anyone locally has seen the level drop drastically from last month. Is it down while they build the new marina Scorpion Bay? We did see a lot of movement in that area and thought we saw some blasting. Other than the level, Tuesday on the lake is a great time to go.

Cheers

Re: Lake Pleasant

ahhhh, those southern climates!! must be nice. It looks like your temps are in the 70's/80's in those photos. Up here we are now dipping in the 50's and maybe hitting the 60's through the day.
I wouldn't mind a lake being a little low...if I could get out boating without having to wear a fleece and a raincoat.
Enjoy that!!

Yup.. that day was a beauty. It was about 85 on the lake, slight breeze and calm waters. Even tho the fish were being finicky the ducks ate anything you threw at them :)

Re: Lake Pleasant

I was at Pleasant 3 weeks ago and HELL YEA its LOW

I was really supprised since weve been fishing a lot there since I bought my new boat in July and it seems everytime I go out I feel its lower and lower. It was so low in fact that I was way back past the 7201 marker and then around the back cove where the light house bouy is and there are trees and crap sticking up. My friend was going full bore on is Mark Twain tri hull and I slowed down to a crawl. I didnt enter that area as it feels like your crusing in a giant puddle of water. I didnt want to rip up my new boat so I headed back in to deeper water.

Yea I understand its low just as you say. I heard from an old guy at the dock they are starting to work on the new marina foundations and thats why its so low. Im sure it will be raised soon.....

Hell in the mean time I was supprised to see Saguaro Lake is 100% full. I havent seeen that lake so full in a long time. Its been nice to cruse that lake and go to the far back cove where the NO MORE MARKERS UPSTREAM are. Id love to go past those markers as the canyon gets a little narrower and it looks really cool back in there but you can see boulders and trees and crap by the shorelines and I wounld be supprised if there are any underwater reefs that are not marked. I only go like 20 30 feet past the last markes where I know its safe.

The sand bar is so not there any more at the big beach but I know of it so I still try to stay to the right when you pass that spot.

Do you know if the BASS are still hitting at Pleasant? Its too cold for night fishing now but its really nice during the day so if the bass are still hititing then Id go try some day fishing there.

Ive just been crusing Saguaro to try to put the last few hours on my MERC I/O To get to full break in so I can change the oil and then put in Synthetic oils in all aound.

Might actually go later today or tomarorw! I knwo my friends want to go back to Pleasnt though. I do to

Glad to hear Saguaro is at capacity. Been itching to get back there. Its a beautiful scenic lake. Have not been on it for a few years now. Whats the fees to get in these days? Hows the crowds?

AZLAKES

I went the 1st day w/ my new BAYLINER and it was 10 BUCKS  Hell Pleasant is only 7 if you pull a boat and its MUCH bigger.

SO I bought the annual pass for 95 bucks and it entitles you to all the lakes in the Tonto National Parks. Saguaro, Canyon, Rosevelt and, Horseshoe? Is that part of that lake system? I dotn remember. I havent been to any other the Saguaro and Pleasant. I would love to go check out the others one of these days and now that I have a new boat and LOVE taking it out I think by next season Im going to try them out. Its just so easy for me to go to pleasant and Saguaro.

The traffic loadign and unloadign at Saguro wasnt nearly as bad as I have seen it in the past I go to the lake and have been able to load and unload in 15 minutes.
Now I have gone in early afternoon during the week and or/ after 4 on weekends. I plan on going tomarrow before noon and I bet it will be a little bussy. There were a good # of boats on Tuesday afternoon and A LOT of these guys are sking and it seems they like that channel that leads to the second part of the lake around the light house rock!.

The beach area in back was dead and I was able to run at plane speed where your not supposed to ...SHHH dont tell any one......It was really nice to see that far back canyon after all these years. I will do that again tomarrow!

I just finished putting in lights on my interior and I damn near wanna pull the boat out right now and run to the lake for a BUZZ....See my BAYLINER CUSTOMIZATION thread:

Yea its like mid 90's still during the day but a bit chilly at night. I was out this time last week and it was too chilly for me I had to head back in.

Ill be out tomarrow afternoon while the warm sun is up! I love boating I think Ive been out more with my new 185 in the last 3 months then I did 10 years ago the whole season with my old wellcraft 19 footer. It was a money pit and broke every time I went out so the more it sat the cheeper it was to own LOL...A friend asked me 3 weeks ago why I went out and bought a Brand new boat? thats why, I want to use it not fix it LOL... I dont mind customizing it and making it even cooler but repairs to keep her in the water just suck!

UPDATE 3-22-08

HOLY ***** you have to see the size of the stripe bass at the marina!!!!

This summer the fishing should be amasing, hell maby even now.

Was out at the lake and we stopped to eat at the bar and gill. By the way they place has been renovated, its really cool. A great place to hang out!

So my girlfriends daughters boyfriend looks over the railing and freaks out. He sees a BIG fish and Im like what? so we look over and there had to be a dozzen or so Strippers right there in the water. They were like anywhere from 2 to 3 feet long and fat around the body. At least 5 to 8 pounders. I wish I had my fishing rod I was so pissed. They threw french fries in the water and the damn things ate them right up. So I think thats what Im gonna start fishing with LOL......Un freeking beleiveable! There was also a single GIANT catfish that har to weigh in at over 10 pounds its was the biggest catfish I think I have seen besides the one in BASS PROS fish tank. It came up to the surface a few times. That lake is full of fish..I just need to catch a few of them!
