I have a 16ft Larson Wildfire ith a 115 evinrude 115. it runs 58mph (gps) all by myself. It takes an experienced driver as this boat is hard to drive with out a pad. I am womdering what the pros and cons are at adding a pad and if so where can i get some info on how to. I have run an autobodyshop for 18 years and I am very good with glass work. I also have two techs who have previous experience with boat hull repairs. Also if I added a pad and a prop that will give me bow lift and tweeked this motor will it ride better at higher speeds. I have a 150 merc xr2 thats is stock and I have one that has dome pistons and every bell and whistle you can imagine. Your advise will be greatly apreciated.

Re: larso wildfire and adding a pad

hi ronnie.....welcome to iboats:)

the word "pad" has lots of meanings.

usually a pad is a small flat area in front of the anitcav plate. it is used mostly on go fast bass boats.

you ask about a bow lift prop....with the two....you will porpus in anything but flat water.

what is it you are trying to achieve? handling can be made by various weight adjustments in the boat it self.

but the main reason you are having handling problems is that you are most likely overpowered
