Re: Larson BR worth?

I've never done it, can a swim step be added? Or is it cost prohibitive?

Adding an aftermarket extended swimplatform will be about $1,000.

Re: Larson BR worth?

I have a 2009 Larson 18' BR. The one in my avatar. However, I have the 3.0 Volvo. It's adequate. Does an honest 40 MPH and gets up OK. The 4.3 would be a dream.

The boat is VERY well built-Solid Solid Solid. About 700# heavier than most boats, in it's class. I am also impressed with the attention to detail, wiring, cleats, etc. If they spent that much time on the little stuff, I am confident that the big stuff is first rate.

I do likke the Volvo drive (SX). It shifts silky smooth and the attention to detail is prevelant there too. Engine access is huge and the compartment is well laid and thought out. Yes, parts are more expensive and harder to find but I don't see any need for major parts, as long as I maintain it. It's a Strong drive. I also like that I can service the water pump without splitting the drive.

I paid $15K for it last summer with 15 hours. The boat was/is spotless. I will keep it that way. I mean SPOTLESS. The 4.3 is easily worth another Grand$.

I like this boat so much I am seriously considering re-powering to the 4.3.

This is all from a tried and true Boston Whaler guy.
