Re: Larson vs Crownline

i'm only doing this if my Larson sells first.
Well now that's smart thinkin. Nice that the Crownline seller is so patient ...

The 4.3 is a big step up from the 3.0. You'll like it. And from what I've seen so far as fit'n finish, Crownlines are a lil higher end boat.

Good luck with the plan.

Re: Larson vs Crownline

This was in response to the post that said Chaparral was owned by Brunswick.

I see you had to look it up. apparently you didn't know

Why would i type all that info?

Were did it say Chaparral was ever owned by Brunswick? If you read it a little slower it says Robalo was owned by Brunswick until 2001 and was purchased from them. You didn't offer to much to the question i see, Other then criticism.

I read it, did not have to look it up because I already knew the answer. If you would have read my response earlier in the thread, you would have know that. Also, the OP already acknowledged that he had mis-spoke. Clarification from Wikipedia was unnecessary IMO.

Anyway..... The Crownline would be my choice over the Larson, the V6 will be just the right power for that size boat.

Torque is generally not referred to in boating but the 4.3 is such a powerhouse of an engine given it is only a v6 because among other things its huge torque numbers. Most Crownlines I see are nice looking boats while most Larsons I see don't make me think twice. Of course I rarely see Crownlines or any higher end brand unless on big water but see Larson and other vec's all day. I'd consider the swap if it were me.

I have a similar boat to the one you're looking at. Mine is the 2003 CL 18.0 Bow Rider, with the 4.3L MPI. Really nice rig. Motor has been spot on reliable, starts right up after winter storage, plenty of power, no complaints.

Yeah the 4.3 is hard to beat. My lil bro has one in a 19' Stingray he bought new in '01. Been very good to him.

Runs outa hp before it runs outa torque. By that I mean it'll top out @ around 53 whether lightly or fully loaded. Doesn't seem to care?

Hope the deal works out for you.

From a Pro Hull point of view ... and build ..

Crownline normally has a better build as far as construction. I dont know much about power .. but the 'Build' seems to be better in my experience ..

YD.
