Well, the day has arrived and all too soon.
Packing up lunch now for the final cruise and then on to the ramp and pulling my beauty outta the water and bringing it home for the long, lonely winter.

I guess the dog and I will head for Mallett's Bay over in VT. Can't stay too late as they're predicting 4' waves on the pond later this afternoon.

Big lunch, small bottle of wine* and a good book.
The last hurrah......

Thanks to all of you who've helped me this past month.
Sarah

* no criticism from any teetotalers,,,,,please. I am a big girl and it will just fall on deaf ears :p;):)

hope ya have a great day.

i think my last horrah was yesterday. got out for 5 hrs. no one wanted to go so went by myself.
had me the whole boat ramp to myself. docks were still out. though the ramp i went to is my second choice of ramps, my favorite one the docks are all out at. then 4-6 boats on the lake including me. it was great, but a bit windy. 15-25 nne winds.

next week, winterize... :(:(

Just watch out for Champy, Sarah! You may have to share your wine to appease him!:p

Re: Last Cruise of the Year

Hi all,

Well my day on the water started badly but turned out rather well.
I arrived at the boat to find 2 dead batteries; I knew one was shaky and planned to replace it over the winter.

But today they were both dead - the marina pulled the power, my fridge was on, and it toasted my batts.

So I took my mini battery out of my honda and hooked it up; not enough power to crank over a big motor. UGH

So off to NAPA - no marine batteries in store. Great. So now I am forced to go to the 'Evil Empire',,,,Walmart. Bought their biggest marine battery, $85 and about 85 lbs too. One heavy sukka let me tell you. So the rest is history.
I connected it, it started the boat, and VOILA, some fun on the water!

It turned out to be a decent day!
Thanks everyone for the good wishes,,,,I needed 'em for awhile today!
Sarah :)

Glad your day ended well and you got out. Turns out my last trip was last weekend unless some unforeseen warm front comes in. Gonna put the boat to bed next weekend or the one after, wife is getting anxious to get her garage back before she has to start scraping windows. A little jealous of all you down south...but then again you don't get to ice fish.

SUB- I do not know how anyone thinks that sitting on a frozen chunk of ice is any sort of fun..... i is for cooling off the drinks not for fishing.

Yeah, honestly it was fun when I was 10, now it's just cold. The only real advantage of it is you don't have to pack ice for the beverages.

My buddies and I went ice fishing once. ......................... By the time we cut a hole in the ice big enough to launch the boat, we were too tired to fish! :D
