My wife and I enjoyed our last day of the boating season today on Lake Norman. Lots of life changes coming, we are having our 1st baby on April 4th of next year so this was the last free for all summer. We had a ball today and i am dreading winter. This was our first summer on the lake and it was the time of my life, there is NOTHING better than boating, i can only hope next season is half as fun as this one was

Forza Boating!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the new addition coming next year:)

Saying goodbye to the lake for the last time in the season is never something I look forward to, and as your kids get into school the long weekends get cut short, but I predict that in the distant future you will have far more memories boating with the kids than without. As one boater said it "I rate my success in life by how many stories my kids tell that start with 'My dad and I...' "

Keep on the boat, it will be incredibly hard for the first couple of years taking the little one out. Mine is just learning on the boat. He likes the horn button and I am kicking myself for showing it to him.

When I bought my boat I named it "The Water Breaker" because my wife was 6 or 7 months pregnant. The new baby will effect the level to which you can enjoy your boat as well as everything else in your life (that sounds really doom and gloom I know). But don't worry. One time this fall I took out my now 2 year old who started screaming and crying because we never stopped and went swimming (it was too cold). He cried because he knows that going out on the boat means he gets to go swimming. I guess he likes going out on the boat as much as I do. Of course he also likes to throw things over the side of the boat and into the water. I haven't lost anything that I'm gonna miss yet. I hope all you guys (and girls)who have been through this "flushing things down the toilet" stage are enjoying this post.

Congrats on the baby, I have 3, youngest is 14 now, you are in for the ride of your life but it is worth every second.

I use my boat for fishing and had I not built a camper top I would have to be thinking about putting her away for the year, hoping to get another 3 or 4 trips but normally Thanksgiving is here in Indiana.

Good luck.

seeing we boat year round in Florida, my kids were raised on the boat, now in their 30's, have there own boats, and the grands are boaters also.

No,No,No....dont store the boat yet...I'm in OIB north carolina, theirs lots of nice boating days left, weather this weekend was perfect, and that type of boating condition can expect to occur thru January,as for the preggy wife..my wife went with me thru 8 months during the summer then it just got too hot.

Well my friend that is a boat mechanic by trade and I winterized it last night. Next summer the baby will be about 2 weeks old when i put the boat in the water. My wife and I figure that it will be about 3 months before the baby can go out where the neck muscles are more developed and the head has closed up the soft spots so that means around the 4th of july

We made a deal as boating and exercising are really my only active hobbies that I get Saturday afternoons next summer to still hit the lake even if it is by myself to meet with friends etc. I plan on still using the boat a lot, that seems so far away right now.

With night time temps dipping below freezing here and there i did not want to deal with draining the block and exhaust over and over so i pulled it from the wetslip sunday and winterized it last night after cleaning the hull by hand (That was fun - NOT)

Maybe it is time to move to miami LOL, i thought getting to NC from NY was a start at least
