1) Im installing a VHF radio in my boat and the (+) has an inline fuse. I dont wont to drill a bigger whole than I need to, to accomidate the in line fuse. Any suggestions?

2) Gas gauge isnt working. Its digital so should I just check the connections or could it be a bad ascender unit? (If I rember correctly its one of those ones with the float around a tube and works off magnatism)

3) Trim level not working either. How do I fix that? When its all the way down it reads a 3 out of 5. Five being all the way up (in the water)

Checking connections is the first step in trouble shooting any electrical problem as corrosion and boats go hand in hand.

You said nothing about the age/usage of your boat. If it has had a lot of use/is aged, the fuel sender in the tank may be rubbed (from the float bouncing up and down) open.....broken wire.

Additionally, ground and signal come from the 3"ish round plate on top of the tank. As bhile said, check the connections for hygiene; and don't just look at them, take them apart and inspect where they touch.

Never saw a sending unit for trim position, but I bet you have a similar hootus that can wear a hole in the wire and cease to provide a reading.
