Well, it's been about 4 weeks or so since I last had my boat on the water, (Fractured my leg cleaning gutters). I had Dr. appointment yesterday & he said it looks good, go ahead & slowly start to put 1/2 weight on it for the next few weeks. I've been able to drive for about a week now & the wife went back to work, new job, Monday (3 years off after having baby). So no one around to bother me & the weather is going to be 70 today with sunshine. I'll be putting in & retrieving by myself, no big deal, have been doing this all summer anyway, but thinking about a final run & maybe a bit of fishing today. Didn't think I'd be able to get it in, but knee & rest of leg feels pretty good & I think I can pull it off. Then I can start winterizing the motor as soon as I get home. I know this don't mean much to anyone here, but I'm just really pumped up to get out today. See Ya Later......

Great to hear! Good luck with it all!

I was just in Philly this week and the weather is warmer there than Chattanooga. Seems like a great idea... boating instead of work :D

Hope you're healing well and your day is peaceful.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I saw "last run" and it caught my eye.

I'm retiring from my work tomorrow after 23+ years in service. Luckily, my job is 1/2 mile from my boat. I'll be leaving the office for the last time, locking it up, and walking down to the boat for the night.

After dinner & maybe a movie, I'll spend the night on the boat and wake up to a 3 day boat trip of roughly 250 miles! I'm taking the boat from our summer berth in Daytona Beach back around the state to Sanford, Fl.

Always a beautiful trip!.

That Florida cruise sounds great, wish I could go with you. I had a little trouble getting the o/b up & down from the locked up position, really heavy & no power tilt/trim, but I managed. Only boat on the water, great day. Raining today, but if it lets up the boat is still hitched up to the truck & ready for another run. Gotta take advantage of this down time I guess:D

Maxxie,

Glad you're healing well. Go easy on the leg while loading/unloading solo. Double check your footing every time you put your foot down, and don't twist. Get that boat in the water and have a great day!!!:D

Fireman, I thought you already made that trip. We are going to float up from the 44 ramp on Sunday toward the Silver Glen (never been there, need some advice). Will you make it that far South by Sunday? Maybe we'll see you you there! I'll be looking for your boat. My wife said she saw it at the island more than once after I showed her the pic.

I wish I would have read this thread update sooner!!

Left the dock from Daytona at 0730 with 4 of us on the boat. It started out as a solo trip for me and then became a boys weekend out. Slow cruise to Jax and were there to catch the last quarter & OT of the Florida/Georgia game at the Jaguars stadium. Docked at The Landings in Jax for the night and partied with the 5000+ people that were ther (long night...don't ask).

Left Sunday morning at 0800 and cruised to the North end of Lake George and camped for the night. Docked up at a place called Porky's. They had roughly 50 slips and we were the only boat there! Another long night...I think I need some sort of intervention...

Crossed Lake George Monday morning and got back to Sanford before 4:00. Perfect weather, food, beer, music, and friends. Tons of pics. It was fantastic. I'm glad to be back on land, but I'd do the trip again tomorrow.

PM me for whatever you need to know about the Glen. I'll help however I can.

Hey no worries. I saw the porkies place on the map when looking for food. We ended up at Castaways though. Looks like you got to the lake about the time we were leaving. The glenn was COOL. We snorkeled around for a while. I assume it's that cold all the time even in the Summer. Weeki Wachee is colder I think. Went for a quick ride around the lake (huge), than went to eat. It was almost dusk when we headed back and dark by the time we got to the ramp. The sun goes down FAST. I started with almost a quarter tank, put in about 25 gallons and ended up just over a quarter tank. I do not think my engine is "sipping" the fuel. Granted I was WOT quite a bit.

Re: Last run planned

That is sort of weird, I am going on maybe my last fishing trip of the year and I was going to clean my gutters this weekend, I will be extra careful with both.

We had a really warm spell here too but it is gone now, I think it is 35 right now so the end is very near, I have a compaer top for my boat so that streatches my season a bit btu there can't more than 2 trips left, normally Thanksgiving is it

Enjoy the trip and hope you heal soon, never broken a bone but it certainly doesn't look fun
