I've got a late 1940's TD20 with the old style push rod type points. I've taken the mag plate off, cleaned up everything and am getting ready to reassemble it. My question is, should I put a small dab of grease on the push rod so that when it moves in the metal housing it has some lubrication or should I leave it clean? It seems like a moving part like this should be greased a little but maybe that's not the thing to do. Anyone out there that is familar with these points? Whatz youz guyz think?

Your instincts are correct, a little grease before inserting the rod, just dont overdo it.
