Late 70's 85hp johnson. kill switch issue...

Hi all,
Am new to this forum, but am looking for some help with locating where my problem is. Had no spark all of a sudden, checked stator, checked powerpack. Ended up being told to disconnect the kill switch and starts without a drama, but obviously now cannot turn motor off. Does anyone know where the problem will lie from here? Will looking at/changing ignition key be 1st port of call?

Ign. switch would be my guess unless you can see a bare or pinched wire that's grounding out.
